How do you say "Happy birthday" in your native language? たいていの人はほんとうになにがほしいのか、心の中でわかっています。人生の目標を教えてくれるのは直感だけ。ただ、それに耳を傾けない人が多すぎるのです。

Fijne verjaardag!
And how do you say it in Japanese?
Look, how about this? Let's pretend we've had the row and I've won. See? It saves a lot of effort.

"Joyeux anniversaire !" or "Bon anniversaire !"
"Joyeux anniversaire" [ʒwa-jø-za-ni-vɛʁ-sɛʁ] is six syllables so we can sing it on the same tune as "Happy birthday to you". "Bon anniversaire" is what you more likely say to someone you meet in his birthday's morning.
And of course in French there is a single word for "birthday" and "anniversary".
What about Japanese, Fruity ?

In Dutch the most common phrase is 'gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag' (often followed by 'ik wens je nog veel jaren') or simply 'proficiat' (more formal). And then all the guests sit 'gezellig' in a circle and eat 'lekker gebakjes' after they have given all the other guests a hand shake and congratulated them too.
At some stage everyone is expected to sing 'Lang zal hij/zij leven'.
