pass up/over Options

Is there much difference between passing something up and passing it over?

If you pass something up you choose not to take advantage of it.


If you pass it over, you ignore it.

Mostly they don't intersect because they have a different nuance, but there will be a few instances where you ignore an opportunity - normally that means you regret it.

Just don't confuse pass over with passover, the Jewish feast commemorating the Israelites' exodus from Egypt.
