- an exploration into how an abused child becomes an abuser
- the exploration of literary texts

Is it correct to say "an exploration of how an abused child becomes an abuser"?

Is it correct to say "the exploration into literary texts"?

Hi Fruity.
I think that you will hear all of them, but there are slightly different meanings of "of" and "into" when talking about something physical and an idea.

"An exploration of the caves" means someone went into the caves and looked. "An exploration into the caves" means the same.

"An exploration of/into literary texts" means someone looked at those texts.

"An exploration of how an abused child becomes an abuser" means someone looked at one child and how he/she became an abuser.
"An exploration into how an abused child becomes an abuser" sounds more like someone looked at general data/statistics/case histories on the general subject. I would be more inclined to use "investigation" here, rather than "exploration".
