What lies are you talking about in the title of your thread?

tRump has said repeatedly that he had nothing to do with Russia. Now we find out that tRump is Putin's lap dog.

But that's nonsense. Even you have something to do with Russia - you live on the same planet where the country Russia is. Provided you are a real person, of course.

Kirill -

I gathered, from your comments when the number of lies Trump has told was previously mentioned, that you don't find it terribly important?

He's supposed to be the leader of all Americans, and so far he has told over 7,000 lies. This means that neither the people, nor other governments, nor the common people all over the world believe what he says. Fortunately.

"Women just let you do anything you like to them."
"I had the biggest inauguration crowd ever."
"I knew nothing about payments to porn stars."
"No-one in my Administration met with Russians"
"Northern Korea is going to disarm."
"All the past-presidents (still alive) have told me..."
"I gave you the biggest tax reform in history."
"We have a national emergency at our Souther border."
"She was bleeding from her eyes."
"She was bleeding from her...everything."
"I will never play golf once I'm President."
"I've never met any Russians."
"I have no business interests in Russia."
"The Puerto Ricans didn't have a death toll in the thousands."
"Puerto Ricans are too lazy to do anything to help themselves."
"America's drug problems will stop once I have a wall."
"The Mexicans are going to pay for the wall."
"The huge tax cuts to the elite will trickle down to the economy."
"I've put more people in work than any other president."
"We are the richest country in the whole world."

...so take your pick of "what lies?" there's still over 7,000 more. How can anyone believe a word that comes out of that mouth - about anything whatsoever? This is a man who even lied about how many hamburgers he gave some football/sport team! So he lies about public policy, he lies about what other leaders have said or are saying, he lies about how much works he actually does, he lies about people who work for him, he lies about the military, he lies about his own staff, he lies about other countries, he lies about what is happening in the world, he lies about events at home, he lies about his past, he lies about his present, he lies about things he's said, in public, only a couple of hours previously.

If you are unaware of how this amoral, dishonest, mafia-wannabe has disrupted not just his own Administration or country, but governments around the world, perhaps you should do some research. It isn't difficult: the internet is full of interviews, public speeches, text messages he's sent. You don't have to even go to a news site which might be partisan: just listen to the man himself.

Yep "Lies, and more lies....." is a good title for every time this person opens his mouth to say anything!! And is 100% accurate.

The thread is about Rudy Giuliani admitting something, something that I understand neither you nor Oscar consider a lie.

So I just wondered where "Lies", and especially "More lies", came from, as far as the thread title is concerned, that's all.

One thing I figure is that many of you guys just HATE the man. I don't know why exactly, but I know there must a very hard reason for such a strong feeling.

Hi Kirill,

Is Russia not inundated daily by media that has to report every time Trump breathes as it is in the US and Canada? If so you are lucky.

In fact the US media brought Trump to power and the CDN media has allowed his hate filled ideas to enter Canada to our detriment. If anything, the hatred he has encouraged in the US that spread to Canada and the way he has treated the countries that used to be US allies is my main contention with him. His controlling people through fear is the second.

I hate his policies, and see his character flaws although will not repeat the many psychological analyses of his personality. He has lied so many times that even if he ever were to tell the truth I wouldn't believe a word he said. I routinely scroll past any picture of him as fast as I can.

If complete disgust is hatred, then, although I have never really hated anyone before, I guess I "hate" him for his actions and attitudes towards people. And that has led to no respect for any American who still supports him in spite of what he has done.

He has deregulated every little thing he can to protect the environment from clean air and water to wanting to allow nuclear waste be disposed of as non harmful. He approves of trophy hunting as his sons do it and has deregulated many wildlife from being protected species in site of the fact that in the last 40 years or so humankind has managed to kill off half of the wildlife species. I don't remember exact percentages so don't quote me, but it is huge.

He has villified nearly every race colour and religion that is not white Christian. From Mexicans, to the Indigenous, to the Muslims, and called the refugees as having many terrorists in the groups when in fact none have been discovered. He refuses to denounce the Ku Klux Klan, and other white supremacist groups. He refused to help Puerto Rico and wants to take their hurricane money for his ineffective wall. You see they are Americans who can't vote, and besides they have more melanin in their skin than white people.

Not to mention his disdain for women in general in statements made over many years. He routinely uses and discards people of both genders. People in New York City where he lived knew him best, think he is a crook, and have hated him for years, long before he sought the presidency.

He gets people to work for him and then cheats them out of their pay by telling them to accept so many cents on the dollar or sue him, knowing they can't afford to sue. Many small companies went out of business because of him.

People bought that he is a successful business man when in fact he had six company bankruptcies but never a personal one.

He cheats (even at golf), lies, and has no embarrassment about contradicting himself and saying exactly the opposite to what he said two weeks ago.

It was claimed that Trump University scammed people, and that his charity money was used for other purposes. Campaign money just disappeared.

There are probably many more things I could mention about why people hate him, but the post is too long now. And when Mueller is done we will know exactly whether or not he is guilty of much more.

As for Giuliani, he used to be a fairly respected mayor until he got caught up with Trump and now he too cannot keep his stories straight, having to come back and backtrack all the time. Lies and more lies.

Not to mention that it was the great sage, Guiliami, who gave us the immortal words: "The truth is not the truth."

And no, I don't "hate" Trump. That would take up too much energy. I merely hold him in utter contempt. As I do any person who eschews ethics; who doesn't allow themself to be persuaded by moral codes; who doesn't value the concept of honour; and are so self-involved they have destroyed any hint of empathy or humanity within themselves.

Most of us - regardless of our codes, creeds, religion, - find "First do no harm" is a pretty good First Principle. Trump would be genuinely puzzled by it.

As I said, I don't hate him. He's a contemptible human being and so I give him the contempt he so effortlessly earns.

And as to why both Hope and I who obviously don't live in the States, care about the president of some other country? Because we are all supposed to be the three strongest of allies; our history is intertwined; our loyalties between each other have never been doubted. And this uneducated little man has destroyed that.

Also, as women we - and brown people, and black people, and Puerto Rican people, and Hispanic people, and people from "shit-hole" countries, have been trashed, slandered, made fun of, shown disrespect, unfairly represented, and regarded in the same way one would a pesky mosquito: either brushed away as annoyances in an otherwise perfect world. Or squished.

Never a good look for a president.

He's the crazy wizard in the fairy-story who breaks a mirror and sends evil out into the world.

jj.smith - The Orange One has done enough to ignite racial tension - not only in the USA but across the rest of the world.

Introducing racial epithets to people in our Forum community is simply doing his bidding.

This isn't Reddit or a "Comments" section under a news story - it's a community. Kirill's been an active member of this community since he joined: trashing him because of his nationality is just nasty. He doesn't carry the weight of every Russian decision on his shoulders - just as you, as an American, don't carry the weight of the Trump Admin. on yours.

Be nice, man. There's enough problems to cope with at the moment without any of us introducing more.

No problem, it's fun. JJ was not really nasty, but even if he/she were - it's Okay as far as I am concerned. I like it both ways (kind / nasty).

We've invited misters Putin and Trump to practice some raking here in the Arctic Conference, but I think they have other activities going on right now.

Maybe Trump can send over a few furloughed federal workers if they need the extra pay. Whistle Of course, they'd need to buy the plane tickets...

When you are raking, you emit more carbon dioxide and warmth into the air. Not good for global warming. We should all stay calm and breathe slowly.

This is one more reason why robots are better than humans — they don't breathe.

Andrew - "Of course they'd have to buy plane tickets."

Thats no problem, silly. All they have to do is go and get a loan from the bank. While their spouses and children are safe at home thanks to their friendly neighbourhood supermarket and smiling, compassionate landlords.

They just need to sit back and watch the money roll in.

http://theconversation.com/shutdowns-economic-impact-is-a-forceful-reminder-of-why-government-matters-105940

The White House’s own economists estimate that every week of shutdown reduces growth by 0.13 percentage point, meaning the economy has already taken a hit of half a percent. If it goes for another week, total costs could exceed US$6 billion, which is more than what the president is demanding for his border wall.

And yet Americans won’t even know the actual impact because many of the government workers whose job it is to collect and measure economic activity have been sent home.

Proggy, did Trump not say something about all the money the government would "save" because of a shutdown? I guess he figured they wouldn't have to pay the staff. Apparently some contractors will not get paid but the rest should get back pay - and with interest!

Of course thinking about the economy would have been beyond him. And even if he was told about it, he didn't care.

Finally his weakness that objective observers have seen from the beginning is being observed by his base with his polls falling. Even so it is hard to believe that 1/3 of Americans still support such a weak and ineffective president.

Wait until he shuts government down again in three weeks.

His grasp of the economy, the US government, foreign policy, the earth's climate, etc. would at best be described as tenuous. As FD has repeated ad nauseam, it's never what they actually say at any particular time, it's what they want it to mean during any future discussions. That way they are never wrong, because being wrong would fracture their fragile hold on reality.
