Ngcobo, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.

It's a Xhosa name, so the pronunciation's a bit awkward for English speakers. It means 'green space by a stream'. Definitely a green space - the street-lights are solar-powered.

Famous for the saying "INgcobo yidolophu" - "Don't take it for granted, Ngcobo is a big town." - "Anything can happen, and usually will."

Salford University (where I studied)

and new building:

The campus contains John Rylands' Library and the Lowry Gallery (L.S. Lowry lived there).

Salford is a "city within a city". Originally Salford and Manchester were two cities side-by side.
The two cathedrals are less than half a mile apart and one railway station is on the boundary, with platforms in both cities. Now the Administrative district of "Greater Manchester" contains both cities.

Disneyland (this original sign is owned by John Stamos. Imagine having this in your backyard. I'd put next to the pair of air dancers)

Dukinfield - Tameside (used to be in Cheshire)

An odd statue of a long-haired roundhead soldier stands outside the town hall - Lieutenant Colonel Robert Duckenfield.

His grandson went to Jamaica (Robert Duckinfield) - his will is interesting -

On Jane Engusson, a free negro woman, he settled 101 acres and 14 slaves, 2 lots of land in East Kingston (Duke Street) and the use of his town house in East Kingston until his brother Samuel should arrive from England, and all his furniture and plate, with £300 to have a house built on one of the fore mentioned lots. Also one of his chaises.

To each of his two sons, William and Estcourt Dukinfield, by Jane engusson, 400 acres, 4 slaves and a building lot in Kingston (opposite to Thomas Wheeler, Duke Street) To their sister Elizabeth 417 acres, 7 slaves and a building lot in Kingston adjacent to her borther. Also £500 to William, £500 to Estcourt and £1,000 as a dowry for Elizabeth provided she marry a white man.

William, Estcourt and Elizabeth were Jane Engusson's children - "half-castes" or "Mullato" by the terms used in those days.
It's a bit "two faced" - it was OK for him to have his three children with a negro woman, but his daughter only got her dowry if she married a white man.

The Kingdom of Fife.
Fife was one of the seven Pictish Kingdoms in what is now Scotland.
It was the main "Royal" area of a newly united Scotland and the Capital was Dunfermline in Fife - where Robert Bruce and several other Kings are buried.

Well, if King Gustav gave them sovereignty as a parish . . . But he's from Sweden, not Finland so does his word count now? Could be fun to argue both sides!
