rebutter

(noun) A debater who refutes or disproves by offering contrary evidence or argument.

Synonyms: confuter

Usage: Although our opponent's speech was well-received by the crowd, our rebutter was confident that she could disprove most of his claims.

Rebutter (supra) showed clearly that the immunity was not confined to things done in court.

Her Toyota Supra was much older...



By the Rebutter submissions it is reasonable to suggest before establishing with certainty that she might be party to the fraud. Although she many times claimed that "I'm peach" meant something not applicable to her...

Attorney General of the Northern Territory had problems with Jack Cook Jangala who filed in written submissions dealing with issues that fell outside of the leave granted and with issues not previously raised. Lockhart J. thought that these documents ended in what was described as the "Fourth Respondent's Rejoinder to the Applicant's Response"; but this was in turn followed by what may be described as modern derivatives of a rebutter and surrebutter.

It is not uncommon for a political party leader to be given
the task of being a public rebutter to an opponent's public speeches or comments.
