We drove through a bump.
My son said,"That's a new bump."
He though it was a new one just built.
"No, it's was there before/ it wasn't new."

Does it sound natural?

My son said,"That's a new bump."
He thought it was a new one -- RECENTLY INSTALLED.
"No, it was there before -- it ISN'T new."
