If you look at a bamboo tree, you will notice that it has many jointed parts consisting of the body part and the joint.

Does the bold part in the above sentence describe the fact that the stem of a bamboo has many jointed parts? If not, how should it be phrased?

Thanks.

Hi Koh Elaine

Bamboo is actually a grass. If you search for bamboo anatomy you will find the correct names for the parts, in lesser or greater detail. Below is an example:

I would say, "If you look at a bamboo tree, you will notice that it has many segmented parts."
