Hi all, Has this link/site been posted before? http://htwins.net/scale2/ "Wow" is all I can say. ( And you may quote me on that. ) Be sure to slide the horizontal scale to see the scope of objects then click an object for a summary.

Some of these comparisons are interesting, but not when they mix up length, surface area, volume, and radius.

If you'd like to show this to someone when you don't have a computer handy, there's an app for that.

Scale of the universe is :
immeasurableadjective 1. Too great to be calculated: countless, incalculable, incomputable, inestimable, infinite, innumerable, measureless, uncountable. 2. Having no ends or limits: boundless, endless, illimitable, infinite, limitless, measureless, unbounded, unlimited.

If you carry on scrolling out beyond the entire observable universe there’s an ethereal dolphin, lamenting it’s wasted creation because it hadn’t foreseen the consequences of designing monkeys with thumbs.

It's a reference to The Hitchhikers Guide To the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, a cult series that started on BBC radio, then became a series of books, a tv show and film. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ojydNb3Lrrs
I lack the imagination for a witty signature.

Indeed Wow!
I often wonder how a man calculates the thing that is incalculable. In the video, somewhere between femtometer and attometer, the label says something like "not defined". But we still go deep beyond that. Amazing!
And perhaps the plank is the limit on one side because we are unable to cross this threshold at present. May be something else will be there if we could dissect plank. Same with last Universe's size. Who knows?
We are responsible for what we are, and whatever we wish ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves. ~ Swami Vivekanand

Hey How come Will gets to make an indecipherable post entirely scott-free! No fair Contrariwise, if Will's was perfectly understood, how come mine was indecipherable? I shall go and stamp my little foot! (Edit for two typos)

I guess its because there are still some guys think women always talk crap anyway? Or that it's much easier to shoot a woman down than a man?

Honestly, I thought it was about your dialog with will, not about your post in particular.

Lotjie -
Ah, you may be right.
Thing is, as this is an English language site, one of the things we do is to PLAY with language. It's something native English-speakers come here to do. The Hitchhikers Guide is one of the most well-known of English-language books and quotes from it come up in everything from adverts to birthday cards.
I think it would be much better for the peace of the site if people asked about what they didn't understand; rather than just levelling accusations at them? Alternatively, if people are playing some game between themselves once a question has been answered that one doesn't understand, just let them get on with enjoying themselves and don't comment at all?
Can we stop being confrontational, please? Let's bring politeness back to TFD and treat each other in print the same way we treat people face to face: nicely.

As an aside, it makes no sense to say that the universe is 'huge', because it is sui generis and there is nothing to compare it with. And if the universe is infinite, then the notion of size makes no sense.
