Can someone explain to me today's quote?
Humility is the mother of giants. One sees great things from the valley; only small things from the peak.

You may have heard it said that from the top of a skyscraper people on the ground look like ants. With your feet on the ground, however, you will look up to many people. Regard yourself with humility and you will see the greatness of people and their achievements.

I remember, therefore I am.

It's a metaphor, as jacobusmaximus has indicated.

To further elaborate on what jacobusmaximus and NKM have shared, perception depends on perspective.

For those who look down from the mountain top, everything looks smaller and less than where they are standing. For those who look up from the valley, everything looks taller and grander. Whether true or not, so-called common sense leads some people to make themselves feel bigger by looking at things from a loftier perspective, yet the true giants in a society are those who can comprehend multiple perspectives without spending all of their time in the clouds or in the gutter.

"Make it go away, Mrs Whatsit," he whispered. "Make it go away. It's evil."
