(1) Some people are good at sensing others' personality.

(2) Some people are good at sensing the personality others have.

(3) Some people are good at sensing the type of personality others have.


Do these sentences make any sense? Thanks a lot.

Yes, they all make sense. The third one is the most accurate.

Yes - they all make sense and you may hear them all (or similar forms of sentence).

However - to be perfect in my eyes . . . Angel
Each person has a personality - they are all different.
So if you sense several people, you sense several personalities.

(1) Some people are good at sensing others' personalities.
(2) Some people are good at sensing the personalities others have.
(3) Some people are good at sensing the types of personality others have.
(4) Some people are good at sensing another's personality.
(5) Some people are good at sensing the personality another person has.
(6) Some people are good at sensing the type of personality another has.

robjen, DragOnspeaker is right. But I will write it as follows.

Certain (a few) people are excellent at sensing the personalities.

'Good' is a simple word. Your point is philosophical. So good is should be replaced with some better word.

I'm not sure that a personality is something to be "sensed".

I'm with NK here - you don't "sense" a personality.

You might 'discern', 'gauge', 'uncover', one. But somehow "sensing" sounds as though normally the person is robot, or a dog or one of the Queen's Guards! (The ones outside Buckingham Palace who aren't allowed to speak or change their expressions or react in any way.)
