What does the phrase " Swooping Body " mean here?

Starting with a big-mouth version of Lexus' signature spindle grille, the IS has a long hood, low roof, and swooping body.

Does it mean the car has a wide or long body?

It is not dimension - it is lines, shape.

A bird swoops.

Think of the shape that path makes in the sky - and transfer that image to the shape of a car - moving rapidly yet smoothly from high to low.

Don't expect exact explanations here - this type of writing is all about metaphors and you have to think in images.

look up swoop, first, to find your own useful meanings. And an image search may help. Then think of what that means for a car body.

eg
In English:
Quote:
Synonyms for swoop
verb
descend quickly
dive
plummet
pounce
fall
plunge
rush
slide
stoop
sweep

Swooping here means, Aerodynamic body, i.e.with least resistance to air hitting the vehicle from front.

Here is a swooping body bird

Think of the shape that makes easy path with least resistance of air in the sky - and transfer that image to the shape of a car - moving rapidly yet smoothly from high to low.
The best example is that of a front of a bullet train which offers least resistance.
