I am looking for the right verbs for my sentences below.

(1) Last year, after a three month drought in our town, the rainfall was adored (or embraced).

(2) After a month of continuous rain in our town, more rain expected to continue for one more week would be repulsed (or abominated).

I have come up with two possible verbs for each sentence. Do they work? If not, what verbs would fit well? Thanks.

What palapaguy has suggested is good, and I would like to elaborate on that.

The word "welcome" can also be used as an adjective, thus, "Last year, after a three month drought in our town, the rainfall was welcome" is also natural to a native speaker of English.

It would also be natural to say, "After a month of continuous rain in our town, more rain expected to continue for one more week would be too much [of a good thing]."

"Make it go away, Mrs Whatsit," he whispered. "Make it go away. It's evil."
