Hello,

I suppose almost everybody takes a trip in such a way as making out an itinerary beforehand. On the contrary, if one doesn’t so, staying many days where one likes, not much consulting the guidebooks, what would their way of trip be called?
I’d like related words to describe it to be introduced.

As far as I looked up the dictionary, I found:
haphazard
at/by haphazard
haphazardly

Can they be used in such a case?

Thank you

It wouldn't describe the trip. It would describe the planning - poor planning.

It was planned haphazardly. (Adverb)
The planning was haphazard. (Adjective)

I have never seen 'by' or 'at' haphazard. - they sound very old-fashioned, from the time when 'hazard' meant chance.
It still means that as a verb, but the noun now just means risk, danger.

I agree with these. This would be my desired way to travel, but it would take lots of money. Go when you want to go, stay when you want to say, visit places whenever the mood strikes, buy whatever you need as you go, and come back whenever you desire. Great way to travel. Unfortunately, I'll probably never be able to do that. But that's ok.
