Hi,

Is there any way to download the mp3 file of the dictionary word pronunciation. I used to use the Internet Download Manager for this but now it doesn't work any more.

Thank you

Hello K.H.
Welcome to the forum.

I've tried several ways, but cannot see how one can.

The 'pronunciations' are not hyperlinks to separate MP3 files (as they are on some sites), but seem to be more "part of the page".

When I try to save the sound, I end up saving the whole page.

The other way would be to use a simple mp3 recorder, then play the sound.

The element behind the BE audio button in this day's Word of the Day, spittle, is:

<span title="UK" class="i snd-icon-UK" onclick="snd.play('//img2.tfd.com/pron/mp3/en/UK/df/dfsgsjd5systsjd5hn.mp3')"></span>

So, it IS a mp3 file. At least Firefox doesn't give any tool to download it.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I just downloaded the UK MP3-file using the Firefox Add-on Video Download Helper.

I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. (Anon)
